Building and playing your own dulcimer can be challenging as well as rewarding and with my entry level kit you can have your first dulcimer building experience be a good one regardless of your skill level. All the parts are fabricated by me here in my shop and precut for ease of assembly. The fretboard is prefretted and ready to use with just a little sanding. The back , top and sides are made of high quality Baltic Birch plywood for tone and durability. The fretboard is made of alder which contributes great tone and a lovely golden color that contrasts beautifully with the birch. The dulcimer has three string and seventeen nickel silver frets, about 2 1/2 octaves. The scale length is 25 " and the overall length is 31". The tuning machines are quality geared guitar tuners that will hold your dulcimer right on pitch. All materials are included to build your dulcimer except glue, tools sandpaper and finish. A complete materials list as well as assembly instructions are included in the kit. So , come on and get dusty and begin your own dulcimer experience as hundreds of others have with this kit!
